Pick your state and we’ll send you straight to its official voter registration page.

Before you start

  1. Have your driver’s license or state ID handy. Many states also accept the last four digits of your Social Security number.
  2. Use the address where you actually live. If you’ve moved, you’ll usually need to update your registration.
  3. Check your state’s deadline — some close registration up to 30 days before an election, others allow same-day registration.
  4. Already registered? Most state pages also let you check or update your registration.

Good to know

  • Registration is handled by your state and county election officials — in Arizona, for example, your County Recorder’s office. Your state’s page will point you to yours.
  • Prefer paper? The National Mail Voter Registration Form works in most states.
  • Overseas or in the military? Your state page covers absentee options too.
  • This page is nonpartisan. We don’t collect, store or see anything you enter on a government site.
